Driving lessons FAQ

How many driving lessons will I need before my test?

It varies by learner - DVSA's own figures put the national average at around 45 hours of tuition, but that covers a huge range. A 2-hour assessment lesson gives an honest, specific estimate for you rather than a generic average.

Do you teach manual and automatic driving lessons?

Yes, both. See our manual vs. automatic comparison if you are still deciding which suits you.

How do I book my first lesson?

Send a lesson request through the booking form, or message us on WhatsApp. The instructor will get back to you to arrange your first lesson - there is no obligation to continue after the 2-hour assessment lesson.

What is Pass Plus, and do I need it?

Pass Plus is a DVSA-recognised course covering motorway, night and all-weather driving, taken after you pass your test. It is not required, but some insurers offer a discount for it, which can offset some or all of the cost.

How much do driving lessons cost in Glasgow?

It depends on whether you choose manual or automatic lessons and whether you book single lessons or a discounted block - see our current prices page for exact rates, which are always kept up to date there.

Which driving test centres do you cover?

Shieldhall, Baillieston and Bishopbriggs. See our test centre guides for the specific routes and local traps each one uses.

Can I choose which test centre I use?

Your test centre is set when you book your practical test with DVSA, not by us - but tell us which one during booking so lessons can specifically cover that centre's routes.
